four more pages of the sample book illustrated ! the samples have been dyed, they just need to be flash-dyed and stitched to the pages. I also plan to finish painting one more species before my mid-term presentation on Wednesday the 28th
here is one linen flag after being eco printed for a third time! you can really see the spiderwort blues on the wet material. The color settled down a big after drying, but the cool moments are really a nice addition. I am still undecided what will be done to this piece, if I am able to layer it enough it may not need any form of drawing/printing/embroidery....with so many options its hard to decide!
Unrelated to my project but take a look at this gorgeous catbird that was hit by a car...there's nothing like hands on, tactile examination to improve your understanding and attention to detail. Part of me really misses painting birds!
Spent friday afternoon in the studio after attending a really interesting forum on religion and evolution- gave me lots to think about as I reprinted small editions of old blocks to sell at the bizarre bazaar in east town on saturday !
